GO COUGARS!!!!!!!!
So, remember how I have been to a few Husky football games with John this year...I have to confess, I was spying on the team to form my opinion on our Apple Cup chances. So, this weekend was the big game...and we headed out to tailgate with friends for a few hours before the game. Then it was time to commence the football. After watching the Huskies play sloppy all year, I was feeling pretty confident for my Cougs...well, that was until the Huskies ran back the first kickoff for a touchdown, and quickly followed that up with a field goal.
However, you can't count the Cougars out. At the end of the first half, we were up 21-20. We trailed in the 3rd quarter, then tied it up 35-35. And then...like in a dream, I watched a miracle unfold.
With less than a minute left in the game, the Cougs are in field goal range. It's 3rd down, they have the chance to kick the field goal and win the game. They call a time out...the Huskies call a time out. Both teams return to the field. And then......
The pass to end all passes. Instead of going for the 3 point win, the Cougs lob a perfect pass to an open receiver who ran that happy football right into the end zone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sounds that came out of me...I don't even make those sounds during sex people!!!
I was in the stands, surrounded on almost all sides by Husky fans- Including my husband- and I jumped up and down and up and down and screamed and squealed and peed myself as I watched the Cougs beat the SNOT out of the Huskies in Husky Stadium on the 100th Anniversary of the Apple Cup game.
This is my football dream come true...
It so more than makes up for the 2003 Apple Cup where I was at the same stadium, at the same tailgate, drunk as a skunk, running through the parking lot telling anyone and everyone how the "Huskies Suck" and "The Cougs are going to Beat Your ASS!!" (all said with a very pronounced slur)...and then in the last minute of the game, the Huskies came from behind to win. I ate crow the whole rest of the night.
This so so so made up for that.
GO COUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love these photos and love your description of the game.
sounds like a blast!

I haven't commented in ages and I can't believe the first post I'm delurking to comment on is one about football (although I have been slowly becoming a fan of the sport as of late) but I have to say these are the greatest football game pics I've ever seen. You captured it perfectly. And you look gorgeous as always. Can't wait to see how you scrap these. :)
Hope you had a great turkey day! :)

Thanks for showing the world our beautiful stadium. Nice win. I've seen the most incredibly wild Apple cups in the past. They always come down to some big plays....Congrats on getting the bragging rights this year- tj

Thanks so much for letting Shawn incorporate your designs in my site! I love them, you are so talented.......but had I known ahead of time that you were a huskie & cougar fan.....I may have had to boycott them. :)
