random schtuff
I promised you photos:
and last but not least, my Paula Deen impression:
I couldn't resist: The celery was calling my name.
So these pictures: We live in this housing development off one of the main roads that runs through the valley in Redmond, and our neighborhood park butts up against this massive farm Field. Well, we have lived here for going on 5 years, and this is the first time I have ventured out into the fields. My neighbor does it all the time on walks with her dog, but for some reason, I didn't get that you could just walk back there...all this time, there is this big dirt road that goes through the Field and ends at the little farmers market that you pass on the way to my house. Funny and yet, somehow, all this time I feel like I have missed out on this walk to the market experience. And soon it's going to be replaced by massive retirement condos. I just hope that it will all still be there next summer, so Drake and I can walk to the market and buy corn on the cob.
John and I are getting better with the camera...these photos ended up pretty decent because we took most of our close up shots in the shade of the market. It was literally like 80 degrees outside, and today it's like 40. We have the wackiest weather. I am thinking that I might offer up taking pictures out in the field for friends for their Christmas cards or something...just so I can get more practice with the camera. So far, I am really happy with the lens I bought and am looking forward to renting a few here and there to see what the next one will be. I am thinking something "wide angle" but I am keeping an open mind.
So....
We're you hanging out on the boards at 2peas today? Crazy bunch of random fun...I was happy to see my fellow GG's getting in the mix. It's a hard time in scrapbooking, things have taken interesting twists in the communities and industry in general. I have a lot of thoughts and opinions about all of it, but I keep it to myself mostly...maybe one day I will haul out my cajones and actually make a "statement" ...but not today. It's been a long day of scrapbooking discussion already.
Tonight, I am all dressed up with no where to go. I was supposed to go to an alumni thing with John, but time got away from me and wasn't ready in time to go, so I sent him off without me. We might still do something when he gets home...maybe drinks out or a late dinner. It's so cold out, I am kinda glad I didn't have to brave the elements in pantyhose and a skirt. BRRR!!
I will have to save my "no Halloween plans" grumbling for later....because I got tagged by Lisa and Mary and that sounds like way more fun for a Friday night!!!
So here are my seven random things:
- I have clothes all over my bedroom right now that need to be put away, but I hate that the room is so small that I trip over the corner of the bed every time I go in there, so I just shut the door and pretend it's clean.
- I have to swim with nose plugs. I didn't learn how to keep the water out of my nose. NERD!!!
- Even though I am not skinny at all, I bought skinny jeans and I tuck them in my boots. (That one is for Jill!!)
- My husband bought me flowers the other day, and also a huge costco box of Swiss Miss hot cocoa. I was just as excited about the cocoa as the flowers.
- I am waaaaay more liberal and crass than you could possibly imagine. I had a lot of guy friends in my youth and they had a lasting impression on me.
- If I could, I would find a way to wear a feather boa everyday.
- I just lost out on buying a pair of ski boots on ebay...and I am devastated...because I am hefty, I can only wear rear entry boots (size 26.5 if anyone has some they want to sell me!!!)...and rear entry boots are being quickly phased out. They are next to impossible to find and I am really stressed about it. I even emailed the ebay winner to ask them if they would sell them to me. I haven't heard back.
:) When I say random, I mean random!!
And...I guess I am supposed to tag 7 people....so here I go:
Jill
Laura
Colleen
Celine
Shannon
Julie
Michelle W
okay, there you go!! I am all done for this Friday night...it's getting late, and I think my jammies are calling my name. See you later, gators!!
