It is a great honor for me, to introduce my guest for the month of october to you: Ali Edwards.

I think, that I don't have to tell a lot about her, because, who in the world of scrapping does not know her? I especially love Ali's concept of "Life Artist", where she encourages her readers to capture life, while not making things more complicated than they need to be and at the same time creating art. Her newest book, which is released today, is featuring this concept. I really love her way of looking at life. So, now her answers to my questions:
- What associations do you have with „Life is colorful"?
I love that statement. It is something that is so very true for me in my life. In my scrapbooking I tend towards color photos on just about every project I do because I want to really see the colors of our lives. Color is perspective – it tells a story in each photo (about the environment, the feeling, etc). - Do you have a favorite color or color combination? If yes, is there any reason, why it is right this one?
I find myself going through color phases – right now I love red, orange, and yellow. I have been in this phase (particularly red) for quite awhile now. Red tends to be my favorite accent when creating. - How important is the issue of color to you for your projects? What do you consider, when choosing a color?
It is important, but not as important to me as documenting the story. I love for the majority of the color in my work to come directly from the photos – for this reason almost all of my background cardstock over the last few months has been white (or another neutral color).
When choosing colors for my projects (such as patterned paper) I tend to go with colors that compliment the overall mood of the layout. - Did you have any project recently, where color or paint was of special importance to you?
The October 2007 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine included a couple layouts I created using pink. Pink is not a color I normally work with, but I found it to be freeing and really enjoyable. I especially love this one that has simple bits of pink – goes really nice with the cream background. It reminded me to be open to colors I normally don’t reach for – so many possibilites.

Dear Ali, thank you so much for your thoughts here on "life is colorful". I can't wait to read more from you in your new book!
